Spiciest Ramen Ever

Do you like spicy food? I’m talking really spicy, the kind where you feel it in your brain and you start sweating, and your tongue goes numb? Well if that’s your thing, you’re in for a surprise! This ramen is HOT AF! And if you’re not into that kind of thing, there’s a simple way to tone it down – I’m not gonna lie I had to tame it way down. I don’t know how people can handle the feeling of their tongue being on fire.

This great idea came from my boyfriend who wanted to try the spicy noodle challenge (Yes, it’s seriously a thing, look it up on YouTube). Which basically means burning your tonsils off with this spicy 2x ramen we found at our local Asian market. All I know is that they are NOT messing around with their spicy ramen! I don’t know what the words on the package mean, but if I had to guess, it probably says, “Super caliente, cambiate los calzones.” LOL!

Spiciest Ramen Ever. That. Is. All.
Ingredients
  • 2 packages Samyang Hot Chicken 2X Spicy Ramen
  • ½ cup white onion chopped
  • 1 (16 oz) package tofu
  • ½ cup vegetarian stir fry sauce
  • cilantro and chickpeas for garnishing
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Meanwhile wrap tofu in paper towel and let it absorb excess liquid.
  3. Cube and bake tofu on a baking sheet at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. Set aside on a cool place.
  4. Bring water to boil and prepare ramen per instructions on package. (Boil for 4 minutes and drain and rinse ramen). Reserve ½ cup of noodle water.
  5. In a large WOK, brown onions and stir in baked tofu.
  6. Lower heat and add vegetarian stir fry sauce and noodle water, once the tofu is saucy, add the ramen and stir.
  7. The package comes with one packet of peppers, and one packet of spicy sauce. Start by adding ¼ of each packet into your dish. If it isn't hot enough, add a tiny amount at a time. I only added half and it was still pretty spicy.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with crunchy chickpeas and cilantro.

Disclaimer: This isn’t the healthiest thing to make either, I much rather prefer fresh ramen over the packaged version, but I had to try it! Grab some milk and enjoy!
